Worlds of Wonder: Shanghai Expo 2010

In case you hadn't noticed, I love the idea of World Fairs. Like small-town museums, I think they romanticize and capture enormous things like the future and culture, and I just love that. In fact, like museums, one of my favorite poems (that I've written) focuses on a World Fair. They are one of those special places where interesting things are gathered and celebrated.

So I was very excited to hear that the Expo 2010: Shanghai received more visitors, 73 million, than any other fair in history. I'll be honest and say that I don't really know anything more than that, and I don't have time to look anything about it up right now, but if I do stumble upon any other interesting facts, I'll let you know and we can form an opinion together.

Also, if you happen to be interested and do your own research, please share!

PS- If you haven't participated in this week's exquisite corpse over at Call & Response, go ahead and check it out now. It's an easy way to help create something interesting and participate in responsive art.
