Writer Wednesday - Natasha Stoneking

Natasha is a thirty-something southern lady, born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee with a fondness for all things southern. She blogs at Hello! Happiness and is the owner of Sugar Bit, an online children’s clothing and accessories boutique. (If you have kids, definitely check it out! Some of their items are just too cute!) Natasha describes herself as an "addict of all things happy," and I hope you'll check out some of her writing after you read her lovely interview!

Who are you? My name is Natasha and I am a southern gal, born and bred and lover of all things happy. I am a wife to Jeff, mother to two darling girls—Caroline (3) and Carson (22 months)—lifestyle blogger, and children's clothing shop owner. I'm the eternal optimist and look for the good in any situation and I'm the most type-A person you will ever meet.

Where can you be found online? Do you have a blog or other online receptacle for your work? If so, how would you describe it to a stranger you've just met while on vacation? You can find me at Hello! Happiness, my online journal that I've had for more than seven years. It's followed me through my single-girl days in Nashville, to planning the wedding of my dreams to my prince charming, to preparing for pregnancy and motherhood, and now chronicles our crazy, circus show life... a life that is anything but calm, but is the life I always dreamed of. One day you'll find me posting dinner recipes and the next I'm talking all things fashionable, yet still affordable. It's a hodge podge of sorts and it's a honest peak into a chaotic and happy life.

What inspired you to start blogging? When did it happen? I started blogging to document my life (more than seven years ago)... family vacations and trips, single-girl adventures with my friends, etc. and then when I started getting an actual "audience" (i.e. people other than my immediate friends and family), I realized I had an avenue to help others...find the happiness in every day, do right by others, and proudly display the gifts God has blessed me with.

Why do you write? I write to inspire the everyday girl...the one in her 20s who hasn't quite figured out who she is just yet, the young mother who is going through the ups and downs of parenthood and showing her it's OK to have bad days, and the ones who just need a good laugh and help to make the most of every single day!

Your writing inspires me. Who inspires you? My mother inspires me each day. From a young age, she instilled a hard work ethic in me and it stuck. I am always going full force at 110% and give my full energy into everything I do. She showed me that you can have it all: a fulfilling career, a healthy, strong marriage, and you can be an involved and loving parent who puts family first.

In keeping with the admittedly loose travel theme of Not Intent On Arriving, if you could have an all-expenses paid trip anywhere in the world, where would you go? Hands down, Italy. It's on my bucket list and I am itching to go! Jeff studied abroad there in college and I want to go and soak up all that amazing food, sights, and see the Coliseum in person.

What is your favorite place on earth? The beach with my family... it's our time to sit back, listen to the waves, walk up and down the beach, and take an opportunity to rest and relax. It's so much fun to be able to visit Rosemary Beach (Florida) with our girls each year and I hope it's something they treasure as they get older as well. So good for the soul!

Anything else you'd like us to know? I love quotes (especially from literature and the movies) and email them to friends and family ALL the time!
