Guys Getting Ready

The morning of the wedding, after waking up early in the hotel, Roger and I parted for the morning to go get ready. Roger headed over to our house to meet up with the groomsmen and other HWS friends who were there. They all grabbed breakfast together at King Arthur Flour and then came back to shower, get dressed, and meet our incredible photographer, Amanda Summerlin for photos.

Although it doesn't usually take too long for the fellas to get ready, for our wedding, there was one added hurdle: the bow ties.

As part of their gift bags, the guys all received matching bee-themed bow ties, which Roger also wore. We ordered them from The Tie Bar after a friend suggested that their ties were both really high quality and very affordable. I'd suggested we get the pre-tied sort, but Roger insisted it would be fun to figure out the morning of the wedding, and it did lead to some really great photos!

With the help of some friends (thank you, Molly and Laura!) and some YouTube videos, they all slowly started to get the hang of it.

And once all the guys were all set, it was time to get Roger tied and ready.

Roger's outfit was one of the first things I thought about after picking out my dress. We both wanted something that would feel comfortable and just right, but also look dressy and a little different. I was lucky that he liked my idea of mixing and matching a black-watch sports coat with solid pants, since I thought a tartan would look striking next to the beading on my dress. We bought the whole outfit from Brooks Brothers, who were very kind in helping us identify a vest and pants that went nicely with the blazer we loved. His shoes, on a suggestion from the always well dressed Kevin, were Cole Haan.

I might be biased, but I don't think there ever was a more handsome groom!
