A Farewell Brunch

And, with the wedding over, there was only one thing left to do: say goodbye to all our incredible friends and family who had traveled so far to celebrate with us!

We hosted a going away brunch in our barn, with catering by Have Your Cake, a subsidiary of a local crepe chain here. Folks were treated to sweet and savory crepes and tours of our still-unfinished house, along with games of corn hole and a fire. My good friend Courtney of Cania Photography offered to take photos for us as a wedding gift, and I couldn't treasure these more!

Post-wedding brunches are often my favorite part of a wedding, because they're so relaxed and it's a chance to actually sit and chat with the couple, who are often very busy at the wedding itself.

This one also gave our guests a chance to see our house during the day, and for the kids to stretch their legs before the long drive back home.

Now that it's been almost six months, we're settling in well to married life, and are so thrilled to have started our marriage off with such a beautiful, personal celebration. Thank you to everyone who participated in our wedding, and thanks so much to all my readers for following along with my recaps!

  1. I love the idea of a morning-after brunch- I've only been to one wedding that had this, and it was indeed really great.
