Montpelier and Mac's Maple

My sainted father has been up in Vermont for the past nine weeks helping us with our house, renovating the entire upstairs of the brick. It's been an incredibly long slog, and I know he's exhausted and ready to go home to Florida, but before he left, we wanted to take a single day off from house work and take him up to the capitol for a delicious meal at Down Home Kitchen, some shopping, and a little sightseeing. On the way home, we stopped for Mac's Maple, a decadent and delicious spot for visiting with cows and eating maple creamies, which they sprinkle with maple candy.
